Overview

XILS-lab MemoryTone is a software recreation of the Memorymoog, the sixteen-voice polyphonic synth Moog built in 1982. It rebuilds the original's core, three oscillators per voice feeding a 24 dB self-oscillating ladder filter, and keeps the raw, slightly wild character that made the hardware special. Mixer drive adds level-dependent saturation before the filter, mirroring how the original dirtied its tone.

On top of that faithful engine, MemoryTone layers the conveniences the 1982 hardware never had: full MPE support, six assignable modulation slots, oscillator 3 as a modulation source, a deep arpeggiator and sequencer, and six onboard effects with flexible routing. It runs up to sixteen voices in mono, circular polyphonic and unison modes. Released September 7, 2026, at a €79 intro price (regular €199), authorized through iLok with a 15-day demo, and shipping as a 1.0.0 beta.
