ONRI Audio REISEI Keeps Mastering on One Screen
ONRI Audio REISEI is a one-screen Mac mastering processor for Apple Silicon: PARTIAL harmonic EQ, DE-DYN, limiter. $299 launch until 31 August, then $399.

ONRI Audio's REISEI is a one-screen mastering processor: spectrum, EQ, dynamics, stereo image, saturation, and a limiter in a single view. The name is the Japanese word for a calm, steady mind, and the brief matches. Fewer moves, made in context. List price is $399. The launch price is $299 until 31 August 2026 (UTC) with the code REISEIEARLY100. It runs as AU and VST3 on macOS 14+ Apple Silicon only. This is a first look ahead of hands-on time. We have not used it in a session.
At a glance: $299 launch / $399 regular. Three activations. 14-day unrestricted trial. Windows is planned. Intel Macs are out. Buy it from ONRI Audio.
What REISEI is
Most mastering chains are a rack: EQ, resonance control, width, a compressor, a saturator, a limiter, a meter. REISEI collapses that into one window and puts the FFT on the same surface as the bands. You drag processing onto the spectrum you are already watching.
ONRI is a small brand, and the release reflects that. The work was proven on Mac, so Mac shipped first. There is no Windows build. There is no Intel build. If that is your studio, stop here and wait. If you master on an M-series Mac and you want one processor instead of a six-plugin stack, keep reading.
It is not Ozone 12 Advanced. Ozone is a 20-module suite with assistants, stem tools, and a long iZotope lineage. REISEI is six processors and a meter, designed to stay on one screen. The nearest comparison in our recent coverage is Parish Audio's Parametric Compressor: focused tool, direct sale, no score.
The six processors
PARTIAL EQ
PARTIAL is the headline EQ. A conventional EQ shapes the outline of a sound. PARTIAL locks onto harmonics already in the signal and rescales the ones you choose, phase-coherent. It strengthens or cancels content that is already there, and it does not generate new harmonics. Pull a partial the other way and it cancels in anti-phase. WEIGHT leans a band toward Mid or Side while the audio path stays left/right.
A full conventional EQ sits next to it, with five classic models from NATURAL to linear phase covering the everyday boosts and cuts. You can do ordinary tonal work without touching the harmonic tracker.
That is the density argument. If a master feels light or edgy, PARTIAL is the move you would otherwise buy better converters or an analog chain to get. CPU follows: harmonic tracking costs more than filtering, and the cost rises with sample rate.
DE-DYN
Two independent dynamic-band processors, D1 and D2, let you de-ess with one while the other sits on a resonance. The flagship mode, SP ADAPT, works across a region you set rather than a single fixed frequency, so it follows a resonance as it moves. FREQ and BW take that region from a tight spot to a wide span. THRESH stays the same as you widen, so opening the band does not automatically make the processor more aggressive.
The other modes are dynamic PEAK bells and dynamic HI/LO shelves. LISTEN solos what is being removed, and a 2D meter draws reduction across time and frequency.
If your current resonance tool is soothe3, this is the same job handled by two bands inside a mastering rack rather than a dedicated suppressor. We have not A/B'd them. The difference is the adaptive region, plus the rest of REISEI on the same screen.
WIDE
WIDE is a widener and a monoizer. WING-SHARE adds side energy without breaking phase. Push it past its switch point and the in-band Mid fades, up to Side alone. MONO FADE folds a band back toward Mid, which is how you keep the lows mono. ROUTE sets which of those two runs first.
PARTIAL WIDER widens by tracking harmonics. What it adds is pure Side, so a mono fold simply removes it and leaves the center. Between WIDE and the limiter, MONO SAFE holds L/R correlation at or above zero, and it can run even with WIDE bypassed. Switched off, it is out of the path. IMAGE VIEW puts handles on the analyzer so you shape the image where you can see it.
COMP & SAT
COMP is program-dependent, with eight characters, Flex-Flow response, a RANGE control to stop over-squashing, and PEAK or RMS detection. SAT uses 15 models in five groups, plus EV/OD to re-weight even and odd harmonics and a THD readout with peak hold. PUNCH keeps the attack out of the saturation, while SAG moves drive the way a supply sags under load. Two analyzer-band controls choose what gets driven and band-limit the saturated signal on the way out. COMP, SAT, EQ, and DE-DYN can be reordered.
Master limiter and meters
The limiter has four modes, each its own design: STANDARD (default), PRESSURE, SMOOTH (softest, higher CPU), and CLEAN (transparent, and the one mode with no IMPACT). IMPACT runs from −100 to +100 around the voiced mode. Playback quality and export quality are separate, and REISEI watches the host's offline render and switches on its own.
True-peak detection is always on and follows the quality setting, oversampling the detector up to ×16 at MAX. Five dither curves at 24- or 16-bit, plus a readable gain-reduction history.
Metering is ITU-R BS.1770-4: Integrated, Short-term, Momentary, LRA, True Peak, plus PLR and K-System. Streaming targets sit at −9 / −14 / −16 / −23 LUFS, with one-click APPLY TARGET. That gets you close, and the meters and your ears finish the job. If you only need a brickwall, Pro-L 2 is still the dedicated tool. REISEI's limiter is the end of this rack, not a standalone maximizer.
One screen, L/R base
The FFT is the control surface. Bands, cuts, and markers sit on the analyzer. Zoom, box-select, go fullscreen, double-click to type a value. Every module has SOLO, and UNITY match holds output to input so louder does not win the A/B. There are 999 undo steps and four A / B / C / D slots that keep their preset names. The AU build passes Apple's auval -strict.
There is no M/S mode. The master stays L/R from input to output, and WEIGHT blends Mid or Side into a move by degree. Duo is a two-hue skin for colour-vision deficiency and greyscale. Run the full chain, or switch modules off and park a single processor on a track. The models are the same ones. There is no lite version.

Which to pick. Choose REISEI when you are on Apple Silicon, you want harmonic-tracking EQ and a limiter in the same window, and you will run the 14-day trial on real stems. Choose Ozone 12 when you need Windows, AAX, stem EQ, or an assistant. Choose FG-X 2 when the budget is $149 and you already have EQ and width elsewhere.
Pro-L 2 at $199 is still the dedicated transparent limiter, and Unisum covers program compression. REISEI is the all-in-one Mac rack, not those single tools.
Who REISEI is for
Consider it if you master on a Mac with Apple Silicon and you are tired of tabbing through a six-plugin chain. One screen is the product.
Consider it if PARTIAL's harmonic-tracking pitch matches how you already hear thin or edgy masters, and you will spend CPU to get it.
Consider it if you want to test on real work first: 14 unrestricted days, then a one-time license covering three machines.
Skip it if you are on Windows. There is no Windows build yet; ONRI says it is planned.
Skip it if you are on an Intel Mac. Unsupported, full stop. This is not a Rosetta story.
Skip it if you need AAX for Pro Tools, or you want a large-suite assistant, stem unmixing, and a decade of mastering updates behind the brand. Buy Ozone.
Skip it if you only needed a limiter. You will pay for a rack you will not open.
How much REISEI costs
$399 one-time, three activations, free updates in the 1.x line. The launch price is $299 until 31 August 2026, UTC, with the code REISEIEARLY100 at checkout.
Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record, and the key arrives by email. Activate online once, then run offline, and move a machine by deactivating inside the plugin. The trial is 14 days with no feature limits, and when it ends, audio passes unchanged and sessions stay open.
Buy it from onriaudio.com/products/reisei. The plugin card lives at /plugins/onri-audio-reisei.
FAQ
What systems and formats does REISEI support?
macOS 14.0 or later, Apple Silicon only, as AU and VST3 at 44.1 to 192 kHz. No Windows build yet, no Intel support, no AAX.
Is the $299 price real?
Yes. $299 with REISEIEARLY100 until 31 August 2026, UTC. After that, $399.
Can I use it on a track, not only the master?
Yes. Every module has an on/off. The compressor or saturator can sit on a channel by itself.
How heavy is it?
Highest-quality PARTIAL settings are not light. Set a lower playback quality and let export jump to HQ or MAX. The plugin switches for offline renders on its own.
REISEI vs Ozone 12?
Ozone is a cross-platform suite with assistants and stem tools at €549. REISEI is a Mac-only, one-screen rack at $399, or $299 through 31 August. Detail is in the Ozone 12 card.
The bottom line
REISEI is a small-brand mastering rack that only makes sense if you already work on Apple Silicon. One screen, PARTIAL harmonic EQ, DE-DYN, width, compression, saturation, a metered limiter. $299 through 31 August 2026. $399 after that. No Windows. No Intel. No AAX.
This is a first look, not a scored review. We have not printed a master through PARTIAL or leaned on SMOOTH at MAX. Download the 14-day trial, drop it on a bounce you know, and find out whether one window replaces your chain. The live storefront is onriaudio.com/products/reisei.
