Stem EQ targets vocals, bass, drums, and instruments inside a stereo file. Bass Control shapes low-end energy for translation. Unlimiter tries to put punch back into over-compressed material. IRC 5 in the Maximizer aims for louder masters with less pumping.

It excels when you need speed and breadth on a deadline. Master Assistant still builds a starting chain from analysis, and the Custom flow lets you pick genre targets, modules, and loudness goals without surrendering the whole chain to automation. Stabilizer, Impact, Clarity, Vintage modules, and Codec Preview keep the suite useful from rough self-masters to client revisions. Component plugins mean you can park IRC 5 on a bus or Stem EQ on a print without loading the full mothership.

The trade-offs are cost and complexity. At €549 list it sits above a curated stack of single tools such as FabFilter Pro-L 2 for limiting or sonible smart:EQ for balance. The module count rewards engineers who will use half of them; it overwhelms anyone who only needed a transparent maximizer. Compared with Ozone 11 Advanced, the new modules are the upgrade case—if you never touch stems or Unlimiter, the previous version remains a strong suite.

Choose Ozone 12 Advanced if you want one modern mastering hub with AI assistance and deep recovery tools on stereo masters. Stick with Ozone 11 Advanced if budget is tight and your chain already works. Pair with Elevate when you want a different adaptive loudness philosophy, or with Pro-L 2 when limiting is the only job left.
