Field notes

Overview

WetCompressor is a free 76-style FET compressor modelled as a circuit, with a feedback detector, a gain cell that bottoms out, and distortion that rises with gain reduction. Controls are stepped INPUT and OUTPUT (21 positions each) plus Fast, Normal, and Slow time constants. Threshold and ratio are fixed. It runs at the host sample rate with no downsampling. Source is MIT on GitHub.

Verified 1 September 2026: Free. v1.0.0, 30 August 2026. VST3 on Windows, Linux, and macOS, including Apple Silicon. No iLok and no store account. The GitHub README documents an unsigned macOS build and xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine on the VST3 bundle. We have not scored it.
