The TONE3000 plugin is a free, open-source Neural Amp Modeler player, released September 1, 2026, that puts more than 700,000 community amp and pedal captures a click away inside any DAW. It runs as VST3, AU, AAX, CLAP and LV2, plus a standalone app, on macOS, Windows and Linux, and it is powered by the second-generation NAM A2 engine.
Its advantage is the library and the browsing. Instead of downloading individual capture files and loading them into a third-party host, you search the TONE3000 catalogue inside the plugin and audition tones on your own DI. Around the captures it adds real workflow: unlimited chains, dual parallel chains with panning, multi-core stereo processing with auto-align, stereo spread, and pre-, post- and global parametric EQ.
The honest trade-off is that a capture player is not an editable amp. You do not turn gain and tone-stack knobs on a modelled circuit; you load a capture someone made and shape it with EQ and routing. Compared with alternatives such as helix-native, amplitube-5 and guitar-rig-7, pick TONE3000 when you want the exact sound of a specific real rig for nothing, and a modelled suite when you want to design a tone from the front panel.
