HyperWarp is Baby Audio's granular time-warp effect, released on 6 October 2026. It loads the audio already passing through the insert, then plays that buffer back along a shape you draw. Horizontal lines stay at normal speed. Stairsteps stutter. Slopes set half-time and slower rates. Curves scratch and tape-stop. Past the stopped line, the buffer plays in reverse.
Pitch can move separately, by up to two octaves, with semitone snap when the chop should stay in key. Resolution, Scatter, feedback, and ping-pong sit on every profile. The seven profiles are where the grain character changes: Clean Warp, Flange Warp, Degrade Warp, Filter Spam, Harmo-Nicer, Fauxcoder, and Lo-Fizzly, each with four macros. Baby Audio's manual ties the more experimental profiles to the granular engine in Grainferno. Wet/dry and a high-pass/low-pass pair on the wet signal keep an extreme setting from replacing the source.
The regular price is $99. Plugin Boutique has the intro at $49 from $99 through 30 November 2026. Best Service matches the $49 dollar price, shows €49 from €109 excluding VAT, and runs its campaign through 5 December 2026. More than 190 presets ship with it. Formats are VST, VST3, AU, and AAX on macOS 10.13+ and Windows 10+.
The limit is the window. HyperWarp cannot warp forward of the playhead. It is also an effect, so a playable granular instrument is a different purchase. Portal, at $149, is the preset-led grain cloud. Effectrix 2, at $99, is the step-sequenced multi-effect. Warpfield is the other time tool, at a lower intro price and VST3 only. HyperWarp is the one you open when the drawing is the arrangement.
We have not scored it. The trial inserts 5 seconds of silence every 60 seconds. For the full walkthrough, see the HyperWarp first look.
