The UAD EMT 250 Classic Electronic Reverb is Universal Audio's EMT International–endorsed model of the 1976 EMT 250, the first commercially available digital reverb and modulation unit. UA sourced the algorithm from a "golden unit" at Ocean Way Recording. Native (UADx) versions shipped August 4, 2026 and run on macOS and Windows without Apollo hardware.
Besides reverb, the plug-in includes the hardware's Delay, Echo, Phase, Chorus, and Space programs. UA added Dry/Wet, Wet Solo, and hard bypass, and says the A/D stage is modeled. Live price on August 19, 2026 was $79 intro / $149 regular. The title is included in UAD Spark.
Pair it with the EMT 140 plate for complementary sends. Choose Valhalla FutureVerb when you want a $50 general-purpose reverb/echo instead of a specific 1976 box. Specs and pricing are in our native EMT 140 + 250 first look.
