ALIAS is orph's character processor for sampler crunch and tape wear. Four sampler characters, three variants each, cover rates inspired by the SP-1200, the MPC60 and MPC3000, the Akai S950, and the Ensoniq Mirage. Twelve tape settings, from a studio reel to sticky-shed and 8-track, sit at one level so a colour change is not a gain change. Eleven tiles add bit reduction, CD read errors, generation loss, dropouts, half or double speed, vinyl at 33 or 45, wow and flutter, azimuth, hiss, and a small reverb.

The price is €39 / $39, tax included, with a 7-day trial, from orph. Latency is 22.9 ms at 44.1 kHz. Formats are VST3 and AU.
