Altitude is nakst's hybrid synthesis workstation: eight generators (four virtual analog oscillators plus four sample layers), two filters with fifteen algorithms, eight effect slots with seventeen effect types, and a modulation system built on five envelopes, four LFOs, step and math modulators, and a 21-slot matrix with 500+ destinations. It combines virtual analog, sampling, and FM in a single voice.
Verified 25 August 2026: previously a paid instrument, Altitude became a free download on 1 August 2026 with no DRM. It ships as CLAP, Audio Unit, and an FL Studio native plugin, plus standalone, on Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon native), and Linux — there is no VST3 build. It sits alongside the best free hybrid synths, Vital and Surge XT, on depth.
