Sinphonica Maestosa Strings is IK Multimedia's first major orchestral instrument in roughly a decade and the opening release of a new Sinphonica orchestra. It records a full 60-piece string section in Milan, 16 First Violins, 14 Second Violins, 12 Violas, 10 Cellos, and 8 Double Basses, and keeps the ensemble's identity intact rather than multiplying small groups.
The standout feature is PALCO, a 3D stage-placement system that seats each section in a real hall using captured impulse responses and multiple microphone perspectives, so sections sit together as one orchestra. Playability centers on true legato styles, articulation morphing, and keyswitch presets built around composer workflows. The library is 133.1 GB installed and runs as an AU, VST3, or AAX plugin with its own interface, no Kontakt required.
The complete collection launched on 8 October 2026 at an introductory $399.99, down from a $499.99 list, with sections sold individually from $149.99 and a $299.99 crossgrade for Miroslav Philharmonik 2 owners.
