Tupos MPE FM is the debut FM synthesizer from Tupos Audio, a small developer in Northern Finland. It runs on desktop and on Apple mobile platforms, and it is built around one idea: FM synthesis you play rather than program on paper. Three engines at 2, 4, and 6 operators share a single front panel, modulation is assigned straight from the knobs, and full MPE gives every note its own pitch, pressure, and slide. The current first look is Plogue Chipsynth OPMZ.
An arpeggiator, a step sequencer, and an eight-slot effects chain round out the instrument, and a built-in guide lowers the usual FM learning curve. For the full breakdown, see the Tupos MPE FM first look. A newer FM synth in this lane is KaitoSato IMFMSynth.
