The EP-35 K.O. AMP is Teenage Engineering's first amplifier, and it is really a portable hub rather than a plain practice amp. A 35-watt design drives a four-inch woofer and a one-inch tweeter, and around it sit the inputs that set it apart: an XLR mic channel with switchable 48-volt phantom power, a 6.35 mm guitar input, a 3.5 mm line in, and a USB-C port that doubles as a 2-in, 8-out audio interface.
It runs on a 20.1 Wh battery for up to 12 hours, carries sixteen onboard effects split between guitar and mic, and uses Bluetooth 5.3 with a broadcast mode that pairs several units into one. It sells for $399 in the US and £349 in the UK. Next to portable performance hardware such as the Yamaha CK76 and the Arturia AstroLab, the EP-35 is the connected box you carry to hear, mic and record a rig.
