Field notes

Überblick

EVAbeat Melody Sauce 3 is a MIDI idea generator that writes melodies, chord progressions and bass lines inside your DAW, then hands you editable MIDI rather than a finished bounce. Version 3 widened the plugin from a melody tool into a three-part engine, adding more than 1,000 chord progressions, a bass layer, eight-bar generation, a built-in piano roll and MIDI import with key and chord detection. The later 3.1 update added plugin hosting on each layer, more than 100 chord voicings and WAV audio export.

It is priced at $79 against a $99 list, with a $29 upgrade for owners of versions 1 and 2. The nearest alternatives are Scaler 3, a deeper chord and music-theory assistant at $99, and InstaComposer 4, a multi-track section generator. For the full walkthrough, see the Melody Sauce 3 first look.
