Cryptid Audio Mothman is a tape space echo and aura reverb. RE-201-style repeats keep coming back, with flutter and warble. At the same feedback, a held note can ring while a noisy hit dies in a repeat or two. Clarity, Sub Bloom, Lure, and Wake keep the tail on the musical body of the sound. The current first look is Vengeance Q4ntum.
The price is $59, checked on 13 October 2026. It launched as an introductory price against a $79 list, and the Cryptid Audio page no longer shows a list price. VST3 and standalone on Windows 10 and 11. No iLok. 14-day full trial, 30-day refund. Mac and AU are on the roadmap.
Compared with Valhalla Delay and Valhalla VintageVerb it is the source-aware echo, not a consistent hall. Read the Field Guide first look.
