Tracker Pro for iPad Is Now on the App Store

Our new iPad app, Tracker Pro: Sampler & Synths, is now available on the App Store. It brings a tracker sequencer, a sampler, built-in synthesizers, effects, and song arrangement together on the iPad. The US price is $19.99 as a one-time purchase. It requires iPadOS 17 or later.

You can make a complete track with the iPad alone. Bundled samples, presets, and the STARTER 148 demo song give you something to play and edit as soon as you open the app. A MIDI controller is optional.

Notes, slices, and step effects in one pattern

A tracker writes music as rows of notes and commands, with each track running down its own column. That makes a drum hit's pitch, velocity, and step effects visible alongside the bass and chord parts.

Tracker Pro supports up to 16 tracks, patterns up to 128 rows, and three effect columns per step. Use a retrigger to roll one snare hit, add a glide to a bass note, or change which sample slice plays on the last beat. Chords can contain up to six notes on a step.

Touch controls and the on-screen keys let you enter notes directly. An external typing keyboard gives you shortcuts for editing.

A sampler with room for rough edges

Import a recording, capture a sound, or start with a bundled sample. Slice a break by its transients, divide it into equal parts, or place the slices yourself. Then sequence the individual hits into a new rhythm.

The sampler includes reduced-bit-depth resampling, Amiga-style Paula playback, and vintage time stretching. Lower the resolution to roughen a clean drum sound, or use the stretch controls to change a loop's length and texture. Filters, envelopes, and modulation let you shape the result inside the same instrument.

Synth parts and AUv3 instruments

The built-in Macro synthesizer offers 24 engines, covering sounds such as virtual analog, FM, wavetable, physical modeling, and synthesized drums. Resonator provides another route into tuned, ringing sounds through physical modeling.

You can also host compatible AUv3 instruments and effects installed on your iPad. Sequence an instrument from the tracker or place an effect in a track's device chain. The built-in instruments work without additional plug-ins.

Turn the pattern into a finished track

Arrange patterns into song sections, make variations, and decide where each part enters or drops out. In the mixer, balance track levels, place parts in the stereo field, and use sends for shared effects. Export the finished master as a WAV file through the iPad's Files or Share controls.

A useful first session is to play STARTER 148, change a few notes in one pattern, and hear how those edits affect the song. Then try replacing an instrument or slicing your own recording.
