Splitz is Rast Sound's split effects rack. It divides a sound into centre and sides, three frequency bands, loud and quiet parts, or hits and tails, and gives each part up to four effect slots. The seven included effects are Colour saturation, the Tone macro EQ, Glue compression, Space reverb, Echo delay, Mod modulation and Duck ducking, and you can mix them with your own VST3 plugins, or Audio Units on Mac, even when Splitz runs in Pro Tools.
With no effects loaded the parts recombine flat, and every part stays time-aligned when its plugins add latency. Each part has gain, pan, mix, mute and solo, and the rack adds A/B, undo and redo, dry/wet and user presets. Effect parameters inside Splitz are not exposed to host automation yet.
Kilohearts Multipass is the deeper band-splitting option with five bands and modulation, but it only hosts Snapins. The same developer's Redwood is a serial analog color rack. Read our Splitz first look for the full comparison with Multipass and SplitEQ.
