Komplete 26 Ultimate is the middle tier of Native Instruments' production bundle. It has everything in Komplete 26 Standard, including Kontakt 8, the returning Absynth 6, Massive X and Guitar Rig 7 Pro, then adds roughly 100 more instruments and effects, most of them aimed at film, TV and game music. Plugin Boutique sells it for $1,249, the same as Native Instruments, and Best Service lists it at $1,174.27 before VAT.
The extra money buys NI's cinematic library. That means the granular trio Straylight, Ashlight and Pharlight, Piano Colors and Vocal Colors, Choir Omnia Essentials, Sequis and Rise & Hit, plus the new additions for this year: LCO Producer Strings (recorded with the London Contemporary Orchestra), the Cremona Quartet Ensemble, the Claire grand piano and the Erosia sound design engine. Add the Session guitars and basses, the Spotlight Collection and more than 100 Expansions for Kontakt, Massive X and Maschine, and you get 116,000+ sounds.
The honest catch is fit. If you make beats, electronic music or band-based songs, Standard already covers the instruments, synths, drums and effects you will use most, and it costs $700 less. Ultimate earns its price when your work needs orchestral strings, scoring textures and sound design tools. The download is 950 GB compressed, though Native Access lets you install only what you need. And the synth flagship it ships with is Massive X: NI released Massive XL on 27 October, and it is not part of the bundle. Massive X owners can update for $49 until 3 January 2027.

Buy now or wait? If you own an older Komplete, the update prices above are what you should compare against any Black Friday offer. If you are buying from scratch, start by checking whether Standard covers your work. Our plugin bundles Black Friday 2026 guide compares Komplete with V Collection, MPS 9 and Soundtoys.
How it compares
Arturia V Collection 11 Pro at $699 is the better buy for vintage synths and keys, but it has no sampling platform, drums or effects. Omnisphere 3 is one deep hybrid synth for $499 at Best Service, and it complements Komplete as much as it competes with it. Choose Ultimate if you score to picture or design sound for a living. Choose Standard if you mostly need Kontakt, synths and effects. Our full Komplete 26 review covers the tiers in detail.
