UVI Player is the new name for UVI Workstation, UVI's free host for its instrument catalogue. It runs standalone or as AU, AAX, VST and VST3 on macOS and Windows, and it now loads every Falcon Expansion with its own interface, macros and presets, so those sound packs no longer require a Falcon licence. It also plays UVI-Powered libraries from partners such as Acousticsamples and VI Labs.
The update brought a redesigned browser with tags, text search, favourites and instant audio previews, a Single/Multi toggle, and a mixer with mute, solo and VU meters. Every download includes UVI Starter, 50 presets.
UVI Falcon 2027 is the paid step up with full editing. The free Kontakt 8 Player does the same job for NI's catalogue. Read our UVI Player first look for the full comparison.
