ASYX is Isla Electronics' first synth plugin, a software recreation of the Alesis Andromeda A6. Rather than sample the instrument, Isla Electronics modelled its signal path: two oscillators per voice with sync, FM and ring modulation, feeding a pair of filters derived from the A6's custom ASIC designs, an Oberheim SEM-style 12 dB per octave multimode filter and a Moog 904A-style 24 dB per octave low-pass, with series or parallel routing.
Around that voice sit three LFOs, three seven-stage envelopes with selectable curves, and a deep modulation system whose destinations include envelope stage times as well as the usual oscillator and filter targets. ASYX is 16-part multitimbral, ships with more than 1,200 programs and artist banks, and can import original A6 SysEx patches or exchange sounds with a connected A6 in both directions. It runs as AU, VST3 or standalone on macOS and as VST3 or standalone on Windows, for £99.
