Session Loops DrumNet 2 is a drum machine plugin that makes its own material. It generates new drum samples across 13 instrument categories, creates endless variations of samples you import through Deep Resampling, and, new in version 2, writes patterns by genre across every pad. Lock the lanes you like, regenerate the rest, set each track's density from sparse to busy, then edit the result in a normal 32-step sequencer. It is $79 at Plugin Boutique until 4 January 2027, and DrumNet owners can upgrade for $19.
The trade-offs are the ones you would expect from generated drums: patterns follow genre templates, the feel is programmed rather than played, and registration needs a Session Loops account. If your problem is a full sample folder rather than a shortage of ideas, XO or Atlas 2 organise what you already own instead of generating new sounds.
