In this video, we talk to musician, actor, and visual artist Tunde Adebimpe of the acclaimed rock band TV on the Radio about his experience learning Ableton Live, Mixing and Mastering, and Sound Design at Dubspot NYC.
Tunde Adebimpe is best known as the lead singer of the highly successful rock band, TV on the Radio. He writes incredible songs, tours around the globe and amazes people with live performances. But it’s really not that simple! Tunde Adebimpe’s art is multi-dimensional and spans film (as actor and director) and visual art (cartoonist, painter, designer). So when he came to us for an education in modern recording and production techniques, we were both excited and honored to count Tunde Adebimpe as one of the many artists who have come to Dubspot as a place to learn the latest technology and expand their creative visions.
In this video, we talk to Mr. Adebimpe about his experience at Dubspot NYC, which he discovered through his friend, musician and educator Martín Perna. Tunde Adebimpe talks about his creative process and his growing interest in music technology. He also talks about learning Ableton Live, Sound Design, and Mixing and Mastering in a classroom setting and the similarities between his painstaking creative process when he worked as a cartoonist and the meticulous work of putting together tiny, individual pieces of sound to create a grand whole.
Tunde Adebimpe’s live performance at Dubspot, as seen in this video, may not be repurposed, sampled, or licensed in any form without proper consent.
