After many months of anticipation and years of testing, Richie Hawtin has officially unveiled the Model 1 pure analog DJ mixer under his new PLAYdifferently venture.
Overview
Over the past two years, Richie Hawtin and highly-regarded product developer Andy Rigby-Jones who has worked with Allen & Heath for over two decades have combined their joint expertise and unique vision to develop new innovative instruments for the DJ and electronic music market aimed at providing new creative possibilities to artists, and empowering them to PLAYdifferently. Their debut performance instrument is the MODEL 1 mixer, which offers uncompromising quality, sonic performance, and intuitive functionality.
The MODEL 1 offers six fully featured input channels plus two stereo Send and Return channels, two Mix outputs, Master and Booth EQ, Master Resonant Filters with both HPF and LPF controls, and studio grade faders all conveniently placed in a rugged casing. It also has many features not currently available on comparable mixers, such as Input Pre-amplifier drive control, hybrid filter/swept bell EQ, dual headphone Cue system, dual mixer linking system, and a fully balanced Tascam DB25 connector system. In addition, the MODEL 1 is a purely analogue mixer featuring technology commonly found in the finest studio consoles, such as a fully balanced mix buss, zero crossing detection for seamless filter and master EQ routing along high voltage differential power rails.
