On May 20, 2007, DubSpot celebrates six months of inspiring music and video enthusiasts to create the sounds of tomorrow with a debut of their new event division DS14 at the Sullivan Room in Greenwich Village, NYC. This event will feature amazing musical talent with Turntables On The Hudson DJ’s Nickodemus & Mariano, Village Voice cover girls Ubiquita NYC and special guest GRAMMY® winner Louie Vega. DubSpot will also be showcasing DJing and electronic music production demos, plus a mesmerizing video presentation by DubSpot instructor, award-winning VJ Chris Biggins (crobar / Studio Mezmor).

“It has been an amazing 6 months as we’ve seen Dubspot grow into a creative hub of artists. It has been rewarding to be able to provide access to the tools & technology and help people explore their creative visions – whether that be making songs, DJing or manipulating visuals on a large screen,” says DubSpot founder Dan Giove.

For DubSpot, redefining music education and entertainment has been their main goal which has led to their unprecedented growth in the first six-months. The diverse team of instructors range from DJ Neil Armstrong of The 5th Platoon, Studio Mezmor’s JP Solis, DJ Reborn of Ubiquita NYC, to veteran producers Jim Bonnefond, and System Recording’s Dustin Cook. These producers and DJ’s impressive credentials include projects for artists such as The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Kool and the Gang, Bjork, and Jimmy Cliff and DJing for clients like Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam, The Roots, Common, Talib Kweli, MTV, VH1, and HBO.

DS14 is the dynamic new full service events division of DubSpot – comprised of a team of industry professionals who have come together to design unique and creative events – from intimate receptions-to- large scale multi-media installations, we have the expertise to facilitate all of your event needs. Current service offerings include: special events, on-site/off-site group instruction, corporate team building, mobile DJs and equipment rentals.

All door proceeds from this event will go to NextAID, a non-profit working within the dance music community to help children in Africa orphaned by AIDS.
