New Course Debut: Essential Music Foundation (EMF)

DJ KivaDubspot instructor DJ Kiva has long been a mainstay at the school, not only teaching Reason and Ableton courses, but designing curriculum and content as well.

The new ‘Essential Music Foundation’ course is the result of a collaborative effort with Mixing & Mastering instructor Daniel Wyatt and DubSpot associate Samuel Buonaugurio Jr..  The class is designed to give new students and those fresh to the field a rock solid foundation in the basics of playing, composing and producing music from start to finish.

The course starts with the principles of good musicianship that every aspiring musician, DJ and producer should know.  Throughout the students gain a knowledge of music terminology and develop their sense of rhythm, while also learning to build scales, identify and use chords, create melody, and much more.  After this basic skill set is developed, a more thorough examination of song writing and arranging will begin through the analysis of time-tested composition formulas for taking musical ideas and developing them into full-fledged songs.

Essential Music Foundation (EMF) was developed to help students become well-rounded, fundamental conscious DJs, composers, creators, and artists.  The topics covered within will pay dividends for years to come.  The first class will start Tuesday, January 19th, from 7:15 – 9pm.

You can register now by clicking here, the cost is $695.  **Students taking any one of our production packages or the DJ Extensive get $200 off – so $495 for all 8 classes.
