We are excited to present a special workshop for Ableton Live users in Los Angeles on Monday July 18th, 2011 with Thavius Beck and esteemed guests. The Production 101 series was launched by Dubspot instructor Thavius Beck in an effort to create a gathering of talented minds and to teach others about music production. The event has been immensely popular and Beck continues to develop the platform with guest lecturers and performers. We’re quite excited for the guest speaker he’s lined up for this event Alfred Darlington, who many of you may know as DAEDALUS. This will be a very special opportunity for LA’s aspiring and established musicians and producers to pick the brain of one of the most unique talents working in electronic music today.
Ableton Certified Instructor Thavius Beck will begin a 2 hour workshop with a major focus on Ableton Live, production techniques, complex midi mapping, and using the iPad as a midi controller. He will be joined by Alfred Darlington for the latter part of the evening and we look forward to this talented meeting of the minds.
After the workshop, we will have a live performance by the magnanimous rapping vanguard known to the world as SUBTITLE, who just recently returned from the champagne scented jaws of Berlin with his newest album, “s.h.a.r.k. BRIEF” in tow. In addition to all of this, we will also have HIT+RUN doing live silk screening on the roof… custom t-shirts for the early birds… And as always, live visuals will be provided by OICHO, and the live music starts with our resident dj HERU! 7pm-midnight. Thavius Beck is a composer of mercurial soundtracks for uncertain times conjoining various strains of electronic music to arrive at a daringly ambitious sound. An exceptional programmer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist and certified Ableton Live instructor, Thavius Beck’s many talents allow him to take music from idea to completion with an uncompromising vision and ear. This workshop is FREE and open to the public so the curriculum is designed around the demands of those in attendance. From basic to deep, various techniques are explained and explored, as well as some more esoteric approaches toward music creation on Ableton Live.
