The Danger + OkayAfrica Host Epic NYC Halloween Warehouse Party

Vampires, zombies, ghouls, warewolves, mummies, dancers, musicians, parties, lingerie fish nets,  hot ciders… You get the idea what we’re trying to convey here? Saturday, October 30th, The Danger (well-known for hosting some of the most incredible events in unexpected environments in New York City) in conjunction with 3rd Ward and OkayAfrica presenting an epic Halloween bash in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Thanks to Dubspot instructor, party organizer, and Ableton Live expert Zemi17 for the heads up.  Within the Land of Ash kicks off at an historic landmark in Bushwick with a performance by the Lady Circus, while Gaylen Hamilton from the Madagascar Institute premieres new sculptures titled The Emperor Satan’s Roco-Coach. The party continues at other stunning and eerily apt venues like The Furniture Factory (where Sierra Leonean rappers Bajah + The Dry Eye Crew along with Meta and the Cornerstones and Ishmael Kayoute will perform live with dancers) and The Knit Factory (where music collective and label Wolf + Lamb artists will be performing.)

To get ready for the big night, we’ve compiled batch of Halloween music; from classic theme music (Hitchcock’s Psycho which was composed by Bernard Herrmann, and Halloween) to nightmarish/mind-bending rap music (The Geto Boys “Mind Playing Tricks On Me”) and of course Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” – ubiquitous, yes, but it is undoubtedly one of the best Halloween songs ever (1,500 plus inmates at a detention center in Cebu, Philippines practicing a “Thriller routine”! The video has over 45 million views. The person who upload the video claimed the prisoners are not being forced to dance, and this is “not a punishment.”)
