Dubspot introduces its Certification Program in Ableton Live 8

After hundreds of hours spent developing and expanding it’s Ableton Live 8 curriculum, DubSpot will begin offering its advanced Ableton Modules, and it’s NEW Certificate Program, starting this fall.

DubSpot Producers Certificate: Ableton Live

The brand new certificate program will include 6 individual modules, 8 classes each, with over 144 hours of in class instruction – these courses provide the most cutting edge Ableton Live 8 training in the world. Those who complete the program will receive a DubSpot Producers Certificate with a focus in Ableton Live.

The new advanced Ableton modules are part of a complete update and expansion of the Live curriculum. This advanced EMP Package will take anyone who has a functional knowledge of Ableton and give them the blueprints, let them know how deep things really go with the far reaching capabilities of this program. Covered are advanced performance techniques, rhythmic decomposition and analysis, complex composition and sound design and generation strategies, detailed examination of the deconstructed building blocks of instrument and effects racks, and much more, all leading to a more attuned and detailed understanding of not only what Ableton is, but what it means to be a producer who can completely control, modulate, and adapt their sound. Students will leave with a DubSpot Producers Certificate in Ableton, and the ability to find one’s own unique voice by understanding what every parameter, ever nob and button, every oscillator, every filter and routing path, does to exact the musical composition of their choice from this amazing program.

This new curriculum is the product of a collaborative effort by DubSpot’s top-notch instructors, who are not only well versed in the technology but are also performing musicians and producers. Jon Margulies, the head curriculum designer, is the author of Ableton Live 7 Power! (and the soon to be released Live 8 edition). DJ Kiva, founder of Audios Babylon studios, is also a master producer with many years of industry experience. Chris Petti, a former Propellerhead mainstay, has recently joined the team as an instructor and developer. Mike Hatsis, founder of Track Team Audio, is also a master programmer and gifted instructor.  Last but not least, synthesis guru and Ableton Certified Instructor Heinrich Zwahlen.  Through their industry experience and dedication, they allow DubSpot to provide the highest quality of Ableton instruction available.

“Dubspot is a forward thinking and progressive music school that focuses on teaching students current technology for their musical endeavors. Their staff is full of Ableton wizards, passionate music producers, and skilled engineers. They also make outstanding coffee. I wish they were around when I was a student. I would have spent my summers learning what actual musicians and producers use instead of figuring it out on my own. Anyone interested in learning to make music should check out Dubspot.” -Dave Hill Jr., Managing Director, Ableton Inc.
