On Saturday, February 25th – Dubspot instructors Professor Nalepa and Thavius Beck head to San Francisco for a special workshop at Noise Pop 2012! The accomplished producers will be joined by special guest B. Bravo to present an Ableton Live workshop as part the Culture Club arts and culture event. The workshop will take place at the upstairs stage at Public Works in San Francisco from 4:30PM–5:30PM. Topics include: Performance & compositional workflow, production techniques, and a special improvised performance to top it all off. This live music educational experience is designed for all levels – everyone is welcome!

About the Instructors:

Thavius Beck is a composer of mercurial soundtracks for uncertain times conjoining various strains of electronic music to arrive at a daringly ambitious sound. An exceptional programmer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist and certified Ableton Live instructor, Thavius Beck’s many talents allow him to take music from idea to completion with an uncompromising vision and ear.

Professor Steve Nalepa is an LA-based producer, professor, Dubspot Instructor and Ableton expert who has been teaching Live for over seven years. He’s produced tracks and collaborated with everyone from legends like Bill Laswell and Pharoah Sanders to rising electronic music artists Nosaj Thing and The Glitch Mob. Professor Nalepa designed Dubspot’s online Ableton Live curriculum and presents workshops on music production to audiences around the world.

B. Bravo is  California native who brings his own sound of synthesizer funk to any track he lays hands on. As an original member of San Francisco’s Frite Nite crew, he is also a driving force in the Modern Funk Movement. Benji B called Bravo’s “Computa Love” one of the BBC1′s best of 2009 selections.
